The Right Left Chronicles Inspired by the letters exchanged between two politically interested friends that truly hoped to understand the unique impassioned political views of the other, The Right Left Chronicles is purely opinion based solely on the interpretation and leanings of each author. Our hope is to encourage spirited dialogue among our readers inspired by the written exchanges between Connor and Grace. Words are powerful and everyone has the right to speak and express their opinion through conversation, and writing. Violence is never an option in the face of pure opinion. So, here among friends, from the Heartland, in a place called Springfield, Missouri commonly known as The Ozarks all the way to the gorgeous Vancouver Island of Nanaimo, BC and everywhere in between, we intend to start a conversation that eventually ends in the middle where balance rules. The DACA Dreamers The temporary executive order dubbed “DACA” — Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals —has resulted in another buzzword for the constantly changing immigration landscape: “The Dreamers.” It signifies non-U.S. citizens who arrived in the United States as children of undocumented immigrants and who are, therefore, technically, themselves “illegal immigrants,” even though they played no conscious role in coming to the U.S. Unlike so called “anchor babies,” born in the United States with the benefit of full citizenship, dreamers do not gain automatic citizenship.
