Chocolate Brownies: No Gluten, No Dairy, No Egg, No Oil-Only 2 Ingredients
We love
brownies! Originating in Chicago at the Palmer House Hotel in 1893, the
delicious marriage of the cake and the cookie is undoubtedly an all-time
favorite.
Unfortunately,
for health and ingredient conscious individuals, replacements often lack the
flavor we crave. So, when we say, only two ingredients without the usual
allergens, the first concern is taste. Fear not as this gooey chocolaty treat
is not lacking any taste; in fact, it tastes better than most.
Cost: Less
than $4.00 per batch
What you
need…
1 box gluten
free brownie mix (Theoretically, if you do not care about gluten you can use
any box of your favorite brownie mix and still have a healthier treat.)
1 can of
unseasoned black beans
Directions…
Pour
undrained black beans into a mixing bowl and mash with a potato masher. There
is no need to crush every bean as the texture is nice.
Add the
entire box of brownie mix and continue to mash the ingredients together until
the mixture appears wet and dark. Exchange the potato masher with a large spoon
and stir a couple more times to ensure there is no powder left at the bottom.
Follow
baking instructions on the box of the particular brand you are using. Since
this recipe eliminates oil, I suggest you spray the baking dish to assure your
brownies do not stick to the surface.
Bake, cool
and enjoy!
